Founded in July 1938 as the Reich Association of Jews in Germany [Reichsverband der Juden in Deutschland], a compulsory organization in which all Jews living in Germany were members.
In February 1939, it was renamed to Reich Association of the Jews in Germany [Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland].
This organization was brought into line in July 1939, retaining its name, and transformed into an administrative body bound exclusively by instructions.
It was officially dissolved on July 10, 1943, but continued to exist unofficially until 1945.
