Johannes Czakai, M.A., studied history and Jewish studies in Berlin, Potsdam and Krakow. Currently, he is research assistant at the Center for Jewish Studies Berlin-Brandenburg (ZJS) and writes his dissertation at the Free University Berlin on the adoption of permanent names by the Jews in Austrian Galicia.
