Dear ladies and gentlemen, dear members of our congregations,

due to the current emergency situation, which has developed due to the “Corona” pandemic, we have compiled a list of products which can be used during Passover this year, even if they are not labeled “Kosher for Passover.”

Should you be able to buy / order products in your city – or online from a supplier of kosher foods / products, this is always preferable.

If you are in doubt, you can always contact the office of the ORD Orthodox Rabbinical Conference of Germany and we will try to answer your questions promptly.

May G-d, King of the world, add your efforts in the special preparations for this Passover to your merits and thus forge a path to fight the currentpandemic.

We are approaching the Passover holiday. Since most of us will likely spend the holiday in Germany this year, we want to ensure that you are able to sell the chametz ontime.

Sale of chametz In the period from April 01 to 07, 2020 you may sell your chametz daily between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM, on April 8, 2020 between 9 and 10 AM, In the office of the Orthodox Rabbinical Conference Chief Rabbinate of Germany, Roonstraße 50,50674 Cologne. You may also sell chametz via fax: 0221-92156019 or phone: 0221-92156020 online: here or by email: info@ordonline.de The form for this purpose can be found here and also on the last page. With your sale of chametz you authorize us to sell it in your name. On April 08, 2020 the chametz sale ends at 10 AM.

Bedikat chametzOn the evening of April 07, 2020 after Tefilat Ma’ariv, the Bedikat chametz may be carried out.

Ta’anit Bechorot Ta’anit Bechorot, the Fast of the Firstborn, takes place on Wednesday, April 08, 2020. It is customary to either fast or complete a tractate of the Talmud.
